Ever wondered if there was an easier way to issue common commands within your terminal of choice. Bash aliases to the rescue. Bash aliases allow me to type less, resulting in fewer incorrect commands.

Add these to your bash config file. Usually located at ~/.bashrc

# exit the terminal
alias e=exit

# clear the terminal window
alias c=clear

# go up a dir
alias up='cd ..'

# go to home directory
alias h='cd ~/'

# go to dev directory
alias dev='cd ~/dev'

# edit vim config
alias vconf='vim ~/.vimrc'

# quick ping check
alias p='ping'

alias gi='git init'
alias gs='git status'
alias ga='git add .'
alias gc='git commit -am'
alias push='git push'
alias gl='git log --pretty=oneline --color'
alias pull='git pull'
alias gd='git diff'
alias gb='git branch'
alias gf='git fetch'
alias gm='git merge'

alias yi='yarn init'
alias ya='yarn add'
alias yad='yarn add --dev'
alias yr='yarn remove'
alias ydev='yarn run dev'
alias ybuild='yarn run build'
